The cloud network is the current greatest thing for developers to consider. Like most new technologies, many jump on board to implement it into existing products regardless of whether the addition makes sense. Not every product benefits from cloud connectivity, though many do. So the question we need to ask ourselves is if cloud technology is the right fit for our product.

When I do my editing, I do it in my office at home. It is not something that I do when I have a spare five minutes or while on the train. Editing is a process that I dedicate an evening to so that I get some sense of progress. Having my information sitting on a cloud network adds no benefit to me. However, I can understand that not everyone has the same style of work that I do. Maybe editing is something you like to do spur of the moment or in your downtime. If you do not have a regular location you do your work in, then having your data accessible remotely would be a large boon to you.

I do not see cloud network capability as something you build an editing technology around, but I do see the potential as an additional service.
